Bittersweet day. 2-18-09
Today Nicholas and Ardens adoption was finalized in district court. It was an exciting and emotional time. My dad (Paw Paw) was able to be there. When it was our turn we went in front of the judge and all 6 of us were sworn in and then asked a few questions. At the end when the judge said the parent-child relation had been established and read their names both Rob and I were crying (happy tears). We then noticed several others including the court reporter were crying as well. As we walked out we were congradulated over and over! The judge looked like she wanted to give us a high five!Thankfully once the general stuff was done we were first on the docket(sp?) My children also got to see their first "criminals". They were quite intrigued by the stripped jumpsuits and handcuffs! We took a few pictures with our lawyer and then headed to the kids surprise! RAIN FOREST CAFE! They were very exited! Grandma and Grandpa meet us there. The soda and dessert were very special treats. We then went to Build a Bear where they each picked out a bear and created it on this special day. Finishing off our wonderful day, I shared with them a book I created in honor of their adoption. I have to say it was very emotional. We are truly blessed and these beautiful children get to grow up with 2 loving PARENTS! They deserve that!Every year we will celebrate what is officially known in our house as "Moczygemba Day"!
